RECESSION LOOMS

Howdy Kitchen Tippers

We send our heartfelt condolences to the British People and to King Charles III and his entire family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

The routine at our home the last several years is to make a pot of coffee and go directly to our computers. We don’t usually turn on the TV until noon to get the news and weather and a bite to eat.

Thursday, a week ago around 10AM, I got an email advising that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had passed. We immediately went to the TV to follow up. She had ruled for 70 years through 15 Prime ministers and was respected around the world.

As we watched the coverage the last few days, we further understood why we don’t have the Tv on non-stop. Interspersed with the coverage of the Queen and the Royal Family was the “not so good” news and gossip around our own Country as well as the world. As I have said in the past there are two things we try to stay away from, Politics and Religion. Having said that, much of the news was politics. Without going into detail, our Country is certainly in turmoil facing an 8.3 inflation rate. Economists are debating whether we are already in a recession or certainly on the verge of recession.  Whatever the case we are in for some tough times.

Our current administration has spent in excess of 7 trillion dollars since coming into office. The border is wide open, and we will exceed over 2 million illegal immigrants this fiscal year. (Which ends this month.) Of course, we are a Country of immigrants, and we could probably handle the influx of people if we could process them in an orderly fashion. BUT ,what we can’t handle is the people and drugs that are coming in at will.

Over the past weekend the Homeland Security Secretary, Mayorkas, and The Vice President of our Country, as well as the press secretary, went on national television and proclaimed that “The Border IS secure”. There are no other words other than an outright LIE for this political deception. It is an absolute disgrace that the leaders of our Country can outright lie to us and get away with it.

With these rough waters in our future, take another look at our website Kitchen tips and check out some of our money saving tips and reviews. Shopping once a month, buying sales, and getting volume or bulk discounts has worked for us and may have some merit for you.

Lastly, let me share with you one word and a phrase that have guided us personally and our website. “EDUCATION” and the phrase “Be careful what you wish for.”  What I mean by education is do a little research and think ahead a bit before making a decision, especially a decision that will have ongoing consequences. Take a minute a do a little research. And of course “Be careful what you wish for” as your decisions may have multiple consequences.

As I close, the Federal Reserve just raised the interest rate ¾% (.75%) It’s time to move on to a new week, a long winter and the potential of facing a worldwide recession.

Hopefully the suggestions laid out in Kitchen Tips will help us all to some degree.
