HEADING TOWARD CHRISTMAS

Howdy folks,

This is Doug from Kitchen Tips by Patty and Doug. https://kitchentipsbypk.com

We hope you had a joyous and thankful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to Christmas.

Before we get too far into Christmas, let’s remember covid. We thought covid would be pretty much behind us by now. Not true. Masks on, masks off, the exercise goes on. It looks as though we may be facing yet another year of some variation of covid.

Now then, add in the current administration trying to force shots??? I believe in the vaccinations and shots, but I do not believe the government has the right to force them on the public. Sounds simple enough but what about the folks and companies that interface with the public? Can, or should, those employers and their employees be forced to get vaccinated? And terminated if they don’t? Sticky wicket to say the least.

Looking back at Thanksgiving, WOW you folks that prepare the Thanksgiving meal(s) deserve a great big THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!.

Patty and I celebrated our 25th Thanksgiving and our very first without guests. I offered to be a 50/50 partner in preparing for the week, the big day, and those after. Unless you actually help out you will never know what goes on in the kitchen. For next year &/or the next holiday, Patty is preparing a timeline and will put it out separately.

Christmas is a couple weeks out and we would strongly suggest you do your shopping ASAP. We did our shopping last week and outside of perishables that will have to be purchased at the last minute, we are finished. We witnessed, firsthand, stocks were not as robust as they have been in the past and there were open holes on some shelves. I would suspect it will get worse as Christmas gets closer.

After the energy we spent on a 14-pound Thanksgiving turkey for just the two of us, we agreed on a prime rib for Christmas. I am happy to report it is already in our freezer. Our Christmas presents that required mailing are already on their way, the rest are ordered online and mailed directly.

Here’s wishing you and yours a safe and happy holiday season.
