Why Affiliate Marketing and Why Kitchen Tips
Howdy Friends,
We’ve been asked the question several times. How do we make money? So we’ll try to answer your questions. A little background: When we finished up with working for the 2020 Census, we asked ourselves, “What are we going to do now?” We enjoyed the Census work and made a few dollars.
I think the real questions people are asking are: What is affiliate marketing? And how do you make money? The answers to those two questions are very simple.
For those of you that don’t know what affiliate marketing is: We’ll give you a quick overview. An affiliate marketer is a person, company, etc. that promotes & sometimes advertises other folks or companies products or services and in some cases adds value.
In our case, we looked at probably 10 affiliate marketing opportunities. In some cases, with the promise of big bucks of 3,4,5 grand a month and more. Just join for big bucks, pay big bucks for classes and you may be a millionaire. We then found Wealthy Affiliate, a company that was not big money up front and you go at your own pace. We looked at many, many opportunities and Wealthy Affiliates seemed to be the best fit for us.
Wealthy affiliates, aka WA, does this mostly through social media. They provided two free websites and gave us the opportunity to proceed at our own pace. They explained to us the advantage of being a larger fish in a small pond rather than a small fish in a bigger pond. Thus the advent of Kitchen Tips.
KitchenTipsbyPK.com is the URL for our website. With Patty having a degree in culinary arts and a lot of experience, this looked like something we knew a lot about and could give some educational input. We then proceeded through an excellent training program at our own pace. If you clicked on our website
you can see our progress. Our goal is to take the reader, YOU, from the sea, garden or marketplace, through the many considerations and choices in between, to the dining table. All of this has been free through social media.
If & when you buy something from or through our website we get a small commission, usually around 2-5% depending on the vendor and the product. IT DOES NOT – DOES NOT effect the price you pay……In fact sometimes the price or offer you get through Kitchen Tips may be better than going direct. You ask how can you survive on such a small commission? The answer is volume. We add our knowledge and service as a thank you. Our satisfaction is your happiness, hopefully your return to our site, and the small commission the vendor pays, not you.
For the last months we have set out to build a website and add value to it by reviewing many products, giving our reviews and opinions, and pointing you in the right direction. We have also given you some pointers about where and how to buy. Additionally, we have created links to many vendors and advertisers.
We are now into phase two where we review the specials and promotions the vendors offer and link them for you. The example I like to use is knives. If you are in the mood or position to need or want to buy a knife and have read our “Knives Review” you’ll see that the majority of knife vendors sell on Amazon. The knife review will also suggest looking at place or origin to insure you get the best quality knife that will hold an edge and last many years to come.

WHY TELL YOU THIS – WHAT’S IN IT FOR US?
While each of these vendors sell their product or services to you at the normal price, if not better, we may receive a small commission. Our commissions usually run from 2% to 5%. when you use our website to link directly to the vendors website. We never see or touch money. Any compensation we receive for our reviews and input comes monthly via direct deposit.
Having worked on this for the last several months, we realized that many of our friends, neighbors and email folks may not use social media. With that in mind, we are electing to give you an email version of everything we put in our website: Kitchen Tips by Patty and Doug our actual URL is Kitchentipsbypk.com
Please check us out and let us know what you think. If you like it you will probably get a weekly update from us.
